Gobhar's Earth

As the new moon in Libra opens, I was journeying just now to ask about the direction of my work for the good of the relationship with our planet. It was the goat spirit of the mountain who came through with guidance. I have been reflecting back on the creation of the film Gobhar (Gaelic for goat), as it releases into the world through festivals and I have been planning the rest of the film's parts that make 'Scottish Quartet'. I recall how the goat man first came through when I was running the Shamanic Theatre training 3 years ago. He later wandered into the script as the spirit of Goat Fell on the Isle of Arran. Karen Caddell Walker and Joanna Marquis brought the goat man to life through and with the visage and channel of Alexis Beattie (see photo) who was also the score composer for our film and played the character Fell. (You can guess how the 2 characters might work together maybe!) In the film it is the Goat man who supports Linda to navigate a major life initiation. Linda has gone to live in a cave to escape her life and try to find her lost soul.

Bringing the goat into the heart of my shamanic and constellation practice feels good. There is such a need to set to the tone to remember that we are integrally woven with earth's consciousness. I am thinking about mountains, goat bells and the call to those tops that in 2019, began the bringing in the mythical projects for me. It is the volcano sites of old that call me to walk these mountains again and it is the fire in the goat that is calling this time around.

With a jolt, as writing this, I suddenly remember that my Chinese zodiac year of birth is the Fire Goat. I simultaneously remember that it is the year of the fire goat that begins in February 2027. How do these systems know? Why do these archetypes rhyme and come through like this? How do we relate to it all through shamanic consciousness? It's kind of wild and incredible how it all works!

As much as being a shamanic teacher requires that this map is tested and that I know that I am in alignment when I hold space for people and spirit, it's not for me to know the intricacy of the answers. But it is for me to keep on helping us plug in and connect with this wider system. As I approach 60 (4 cycles of 12) , I feel this incredible urge to sit at the top of a mountain with the goat and shout to the sky 'What are we doing?' I guess the star lit skies of Autumn and Winter will bring answers.

The goat comes through as I open to the moon cycle of Libra. The libra moon cycle this year has its full moon in the Scorpio sun cycle. In Scorpio, a drama comes through that spills out secrets, open truths and sets a clear pathway through the Sagittarius spiritual quest to the Capricorn Goat's Winter Solstice gateway. Gobhar's earth transcends the human drama and we realise that we can only find our true selves and the medicine for healing in the reality of being with the earth.

What does Gobhar's earth look like? I think it looks like being honest, realistic and pragmatic as much as being deeply spiritual. For me the goat is the opening through the cave to the world's beyond this one by being with the gravity of the karmic laws that shape each of our live's stories.

I am writing the advanced shamanic course Fire Keepers: Fire of the Earth's Soul that will take the ones of us who take the course deep into the core of this Fire goat spirit's teaching and healing. It will support us to match our inner fire with the inner fire of the earth and our connection with fire through our solar system. (Solar meaning sun at the centre here.) It will also support us to work with our karmic material and open up to clearer expression and creative vitality. I hope you can sign up if it calls to you. The 'current student 'offer closes its window today.

I am also sending out the material for the next intake for the Shamanism for the Earth Shamanic Practitioner training (online) which has £200 off its first direction until 20 October or until the spaces are taken.

I am collecting names for the next constellation trainings, so if you are interested, please sign up for the in person weekend (intro) in November which is a gathering of constellation practitioners too and then part of a longer 4 day training beginning for year 2. You can get a brilliant taster of the work this way.

Gobhar's earth starts with being present and listening and then it opens up tothe vitality of the fires of transformation and creative wasys forward. Thank you Goat man!
