Trauma and Remembering the Bones
I have been thinking about trauma and how the truth is that it brings us all to this work. Whether we sense it out there in humanity and our divided relationship with nature and the compassionate heart feels such a desire to heal it or whether we come crawling on our knees to this healing practice with a desperation to somehow return to the world after years of feeling ourselves spearate and afloat, this work calls people to it to collectively and individually heal trauma. I have been thinking about how trauma is a communicating field of spaces that are longing for listening and reconnection. I have been feeling so bloody lucky to have this job, bring what I have learnt about healing to the people who come to learn alongside me. I rmember that everyone arrives with a healing project and I see the power of understanding and healing come through as people find their way to who they more truly are.
The Constellations for the Earth healing practice is all about healing these tears in the web and calling in the forces of eternal love and strength to hold space and bring healing. I am starting to understand trauma better as I see how it has touched so many ancestral stories and my soul. I am beginning to understand the risk of revealing the hidden and the difference between stories created by trauma and fear and the ones created by somehow, after all of this not letting go of the pole at the centre and finding navigation through life to the stable and the holy places.
I put this video up online today. It has had the most incredible response. It's a scene from our film Gobhar. It's at the point when Linda, who has left society in trauma to live in a cave, begins to find bones and recall a path of the indigenous grandmothers of the islands, back to her soul. I think about story and how it can hold such healing when we see these movements of soul. I hope you can feel it too.
